HOME IS WHERE THE FOOD IS
Ali Baba - the authentic Lebanese restaurant was opened by my father Abdul Rahman Harb in September 1987. Ever since then, we have taken pride in serving typical Lebanese dishes and well as North African, such as couscous. Back in the days, my father used to prepare couscous only on Fridays and on that day of the week we used to have people queuing up to get their share from our couscouseria.
I joined my father in the restaurant back in 1988, when I was still studying. Ali Baba quickly became a trademark of Lebanese cuisine on the island and we still believe in keeping it simple while using only the best quality ingredients from local sources whenever possible. We abide by a very simple philosophy... To prepare dishes made from natural ingredients and provide an authentic Lebanese taste and experience by preparing almost everything ourselves, including typical Middle Eastern sweets such as Baqlewa - layered pastries with almonds and pistachios.

At Ali Baba we have remained faithful to the Lebanese culture of eating together and sharing a hearty meal with friends or family. Our mezze menu offers a variety of flavours ranging from simple to more complex, and from hot to cold, which can all be well-accompanied by a nice bottle of Arak - a traditional Lebanese alcoholic drink made of two, main simple ingredients, namely grapes and aniseed, which is distilled three times and aged in terracotta jars for at least three years.
The food is wonderfully flavoursome and contains different mixtures of herbs & spices drawn from all around the world. Our menu also offers a wide variety of vegetarian & vegan dishes, salads, grills, stews and desserts for those who like to indulge their sweet tooth. Should you require help while choosing from our menu, do not hesitate to ask – we will be more than pleased to help you enjoy your dining experience at Ali Baba.
We are happy to put together a selection of mezze dishes for you if you are undecided. You will see that having an array of different and carefully-chosen dishes laid out before you is a surprisingly pleasant experience, and we can tell you that it is the best way to savour the many different palates which Lebanese food has to offer.
We usually recommend ordering three to four mezze per person, but there is always the option to order more should you still feel hungry afterwards or want to experience more of what is on offer on our menu. If ordering a main course, one or two mezze per person as a starter is usually recommended.
