STORAGE: In this process the jars are packed and stored in cardboard boxes, which Iran entering the warehouse of finished products. MONTHLY PRODUCTION: - 20 SMALL - 05 MEDIUM - 05 BIG SUPPLIERS: Wood THE OLIVAR "Alejo Herrera Arenas Jr. Tupac Amaru. Yauco - Arequipa. Main problem:

The main problem of the whole enterprise is the delay in terms of raw material, if providers do not arrive in time for products intended for fairs fail completely. For a while the solution to this problem has been on the stock to offset the following order, but this cannot continue for a group that specializes in continuous improvement has made the following steps to solve the problem.

Step 1: Select the problem 1.1 Define the rol or mission of the area in study This company has for goal to manufacture, produce, purchase, store, commercialize, import/export products made of wood or similars handmade of great quality.

1.2 Objectives of the area. o Achieve a market share of 30% in the US in 2 years. o Increment on a 50% our clients portfolio in 2 years o To increase the production quality

1.3 Compare against the objective (or ideal) The company exports their products to trade fairs in the US, and the main problem is that the products don’t arrive on time to the trade fairs where they offer their products, that’s why they don’t get any new client. The company have faithfull clients that continue purchasing them but they are not going to continue waiting for them always. 1.4 Identify the problems delay on the deliver of raw material lack of raw material delay on the deliver of the finish product not getting new clients lose clients in a long term losing market share

1.5 Evaluate the problems and select the main Cause A F D B C E total

% 25% 18% 16% 15% 15% 11% 100%

Acum.% 25% 44% 60% 75% 89% 100%

The usage of this tool let us visualize that the 80% of the problems are essentially caused for the causes A,F,D,B. And the main cause of why is taking so long the company to deliver the products is the delay on the deliver of raw material that is causing that they can’t produce on time their products, even though they have some materials in stock, it’s not enough. Also they are not getting new clients because of the delay on the deliver of the products to the trade fairs where they sell their products and this problem is causing them to lose market share.

Step 2: Understand the situation and establish the goals 2.1 Decide the characteristic to be study We have to study: - Reasons of products doesn’t on time - quality of the production - our market and costumers - quantity of production 2.2 Understand the situation In Peru there is a company which provide products to a company of USA, the main problem is: products aren’t arrived on time to USA. The managers are very unsatisfied because products are running and the next fair is coming, they don’t have enough “ceramic” and wooden vases to sell there. They probably would change the wholesale, change some characteristic of the contract. Begin to be the better on selling original variety products in USA. 2.3 Define the goals and limits of time to accomplish it

The main goal is change the providers, look for others new wholesale, analyze the situation of sells, and analyze quality of products, training employees’ sellers. Everything would be taken 6 months of period of time.

STEP 3: PLANNING THE ACTIVITIES MAIN PROBLEM: NO TIME TO ARRIVE PRODUCTS ›

OBJECTIVE: Increases to customers to 40% by 2011

SITUATION: PROVIDER NO DELIVERY TIME THE RAW MATERIAL -

OBJECTIVE: Change the suppliers for the 2010

The management has given us five months to change the suppliers and get better and / or the same quality as they have them. The steps between the most important are: 1. Consult our balance sheet 2. See our costs and budgets 3. Investigate new suppliers 4. Going through the process of quality 5. Define the new supplier 6. Implement the new supplier 7. Comparison the old and the new supplier 8. 4.3 Resume the analysis’ results According to the results obtained, thanks to affinity chart, we found that the mayor problem is the delay of the providers for send materials. 4.4 Decide which root causes have been attacked. We have decided that the problem that will be attacked is the providers because is one that led to more failures Step 5: CORE TASK SELECT TASK
