Crabtree says COVID-19 is taking a devastating toll on the cost of running town government

About seven weeks ago,
Town Manager Scott C. Crabtree had begun a series of briefi ngs with the Finance Committee on his proposed budget for the 2021 fi scal year that begins July 1. Had things proceeded as planned, Crabtree would be briefing Town Meeting members right now on his spending plan in preparation for the Annual Town Meeting that was set to begin on May 4.

The “BelikeGeorgie in the Window” campaign got a huge boost this week when the Ricupero family donated an eight-foot tall stuffed bear, named Hope, who has taken up residence at Town Hall. Christine Moreschi, chief administrative aide to Town Manager Scott C. Crabtree, shown on the steps of Town Hall this week, says the bear has become a symbolic mascot for the town -- offering joy and hope to town residents.
