the curb. Currently in the mecca are four designers who over the past three years have set the tone for what ensemble’s are top tier. These four have consistently pushed the culture forward, and it is
priority to shed light on their talent. These individuals are our “Fashion Four.”. Harlem sheds light on these top four designers who stand the test of time, and who vow to change the narrative. 1.Cheo “Cheo Da Don” Walcott Clothing Line; Bakery Instagram; @bakery.hny Cheo Walcott started off with four shirts called “Dirty Boy” that he sold out of his father’s store “Shoe Fetish” on 139th Street & Seventh Avenue. He then decided to revamp his brand with “Bakery” a very suave collection of sweaters, hats, & pants. He has been deemed by some the Karl Kani of Millennial fashion. His line has

been spotted on shows like VH1’s Love & Hip Hop, Teyana & Iman, & The BET Cypher. Cheo’s Bakery store is located on 1457 Amsterdam Avenue where he also gives the opportunity for fellow designers to sell their products. 2. Lance ”LA” Russell Clothing Line;”LSR” Social Media; @lsrnyc Lance Russell shot up in the fashion ranks with his signature LSR sweat suits. The European cut garments became a must have amongst Harlemites both male, and female. His pieces have been worn by celebrities such as reality star Yandy Smith, and rap artists Vado, & Dave East. You cannot turn a Harlem corner without seeing someone branded in LSR product. LSR has now even graduated across borough lines. 3. Chimere McCassling Couture Line; “Styles By Chimere” Social Media; @stylesbychimere (646-228-0030) Chimere McCassling
is the queen designer for couture garments of all occasions. From prom dresses to swimsuits for summer festivities, Chimere is a master at weaving together a one of one piece. The designer/pattern maker has showcased her work in countless fashion shows, and benefit galas. 4. If you ever walked the streets of New York and came across a sweater or hat that reads “Trap Genius”, Terrell Ryals is the mastermind behind it. T.R.A.P which is an abbreviation for Taking Risk Applying Pressure is a brand that represents the creative mind. Inspired by an individual who believes in having generational wealth, Trap Genius is not just a clothing line but a way of life. Ryals who frequently expresses his admiration for the late Rapper/Entrepreneur Nipsey Hussle is showing in his own way that the marathon indeed continues.
