Robert Paul “Bob” La Hait

ge 55, died peacefully on June 15, 2017 at his home in Sudbury surrounded by his loving family after a battle with cancer. Bob was born in Medford on February 25, 1962 to Robert F. and Mary La Hait. He grew up in Revere and graduated from Malden Catholic High School in 1980 and from Suffolk University in 1984 with a B.S. degree in political science. He went on to obtain his J.D. degree from

Suffolk University Law School in 1987 and practiced law for almost 30 years, litigating and trying matters in the state and federal courts of Massachusetts. Bob was a partner at Bonner Kiernan Trebach & Crociata LLP in Boston at the time of his death. Throughout his career, he was a dedicated attorney who was held in the highest regard by his clients and colleagues. On their first date, Bob quickly won the affections of his wife, Amy, with his wit and warm heart. After Amy had told him that while she had grown up in Minnesota, he shouldn’t presume that she had just fallen off the back of a turnip truck, Bob replied, “Well, if women like you did fall off the back of turnip trucks, I would start following turnip trucks.” Bob’s interest in politics and history became evident as a child when, at the age of 10,

he began collecting and showcasing statues of U.S. presidents in his bedroom. A political aficionado, Bob took pleasure in engaging in lively political discussions with friends and strangers alike. Bob was devoted to his family and cherished the time he spent discussing, playing, and watching sports, especially the New England Patriots, with his son, Jonathan, his greatest joy. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, son, uncle, and friend and will be dearly missed. Bob is survived by his wife, Amy; his son, Jonathan; his sister Kathleen (Rosario) Rizzo of The Woodlands, TX; his stepmother Ann La Hait of Stoneham and 22 loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary La Hait and his father, Robert F. La Hait. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, June
