"Sailing has brought me so much joy in life. Most of the time I don ’t want to go on the water, but as soon as I start sailing I' m filled with joy. Sailing has also brought closer to people all around the island and it is a perfect way for me to get out of my comfort zone. That’ s why sailing is a big part of my life.

'"I like sailing because it' s fun, you get to sail with other people and experience new things. My scariest moment was that time when Carlien had all of us on a towing line and my boat flipped over! Next year I would like to learn how to get better at sailing. I like doing races because it' s fun and you get to compete against other people.

A Saturday at ESA

Our Saturdays at ESA usually start around 8 am with Lorenzo, still sleepy, climbing up our veranda stairs (1 hs before we start!). Slowly all the kids start arriving, and while they share all their happenings of the week they start rigging their boats. The more advanced kids help the beginners and we welcome the new ones. The older kids rig their windsurf sails before we all get together for some Martin Magic, a motivating talk wherein nobody can escape from a moment in the spotlights and from which we all leave socially a little stronger and ready to conquer the challenges of the day! Whether it is burning hot or stormy the tides are high or low... there is always something to learn and to have FUN!

As much as we believe in wind and water and sailing as a tool to learn life-changing skills, we believe in good food as the key to living your best life!
This season we had the privilege of having health expert Janine and top chef Mati cooking for us almost every Saturday! They spend their Fridays going to local farmers (as One Eleuthera) and Saturday mornings they cook the most delicious and healthy meal for us! Every week they give us an enlightening talk about the benefits of a healthy diet and the relationship between food and life quality.
