EVENT GUIDE JULY 7-18, 2023 LosAlamosScienceFest.com 2023’s theme is “ENERGY” All MainStreet events are free and open to the public.

Los Alamos ScienceFest celebrates the history and science of Los Alamos through fun and engaging activities and events for people of all ages.

Returning this July 7-18 for its 16th year, Los Alamos ScienceFest will feature a dynamic line-up of activities for all ages, celebrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) topics under the theme, "Energy."

This signature event of Los Alamos is well attended and draws visitors from across the state of New Mexico and beyond.

ScienceFest is organized by Los Alamos MainStreet and Creative District.

Sign up on site to compete in the Drone Zone obstacle course for a chance to win prizes. Watch the professionals battle it out in a race competition!

Pick up a solar car kit from the Nature Center from July 3 - 7 and join the EV show on Discovery Day at 11 am! Prizes will be given to both fastest and best-looking cars. Cars from 2022 are also welcome.

This photo exhibit featuring Minesh Bacrania's dynamic photography, taken in collaboration with the “Smithsonian Magazine”, brings Manhattan Project-era buildings and discoveries to life.

Enter the World of Immersive Experience

VR games, Oculus demos, digital sand table demos, and a visit inside a fusion reactor via virtual reality & immersive technology.

Storytime by the Library

10:15 am @ SW Corner of 20th & Central

Start your Discovery Day fun with storytime under the trees near the stage. Enjoy awesome picture books about ENERGY as part of ScienceFest celebrations. Best for 3-6 year olds.

Discovery Day

Hands-on discoveries await at the many booths represented by a variety of STEAM partners. Starting at 12 pm, enjoy our beer garden and live music!

Sunday 9th

Big Band Concert & Dance

5-9 pm @ Fuller Lodge

Beginning at 5 pm with a swing dance lesson provided by Atomic City Swing, enjoy live music provided by the Los Alamos Big Band starting at 6 pm. Travel back to the 1940s with music, dance, and fashion!

Tuesday 11th, 18th

6-8 pm @ Central Park Sq

Quemazon Combo eases out your Tuesday evening! Enjoy live music and a beer garden by Boese Bros Brewpub. Half-Pint and the Growlers close out the ScienceFest series!

Saturday 15th

Play Crawl: STEAM for Adults

6-8 pm @ Central Park Sq

Play like a kid again. Math, engineering, and science games & experiments, art, beer, trivia. Complete your crawl for a chance to win prizes!

Dark Night Star Party

8:30-11 pm @ Overlook Park, White Rock

Spend the evening with the Pajarito

Astronomers Club gazing at the stunning July night sky! This event is contingent on the weather.
