Choosing Your Fish

Blue Green Chromis (Chromis viridis) Distribution: Indo-Pacific, Red Sea Size: 2 inches Food: Omnivorous Tank level: Middle levels This is another peaceful, colorful Damselfish that can be kept in a school of three or more. The Blue Green Chromis is an active fish that may be finicky to start, but will consume a variety of chopped, meaty foods after it has acclimated to the aquarium.

Dottybacks Fishes of the family Pseudochromidae are very similar to the Fairy Basslets in size and appearance, yet they are distributed in the Indo-Pacific while the Basslets are confined to the Caribbean. This family contains the large genus Pseudochromis, comprising about forty species. Unfortunately, some of the Dottybacks can be highly territorial and care must be taken to choose the right species for a peaceful marine aquarium.

The brilliant purple Strawberry Dottyback is very hardy in captivity.
