Empowering women in leadership

Leadership and management training specialists, Exalt Training, has launched a pioneering programme to support women in the workplace.

The Women in Leadership programme is designed to equip and empower women to realise their full potential. The short courses are designed for individuals already in leadership and management roles, or those who aspire to be leaders and managers in the future, and cover topics ranging from leadership and communication to managing stereotyping, growth mindset and ‘imposter syndrome’.

On completion, learners will receive an ILM accredited Leadership and Management qualification. There are three routes available: Level 3 (for entry-level managers), Level 5 (for experienced managers) and Level 7 (directors and leaders).

Lisa Pearman, CEO at Exalt Training, said: “The last ten years has seen huge change in the workplace. Businesses have worked hard to create gender positive working environments. But there can still be disparity and inequality alongside selfdoubt and burnout. These courses aim to equip women in the workplace with the tools needed to maximise their potential and to support the teams they lead and manage.”

Recruitment consultancy supports employees in response to spiraling energy costs

Better known for devising and applying innovative candidate attraction strategies, Rubicon People Partnerships’ brainstorming team turned their sights towards the upcoming spiraling heating costs as winter looms.

The brief itself was to supplement other, more traditional energy saving initiatives already in place (including better utilisation of natural rather than artificial lights, energy efficient light bulbs, the regular upgrading of electrical devices, laptops replacing desktop pcs, hibernation features being enabled, energy efficient devices and zoned thermostats) with something unusual and ‘comment worthy.’

One of Rubicon’s Engineering Division recruitment consultants, Scott Rutter, said: “As we brainstormed, someone mentioned that, if there was a way to ensure that everyone in the office wore a thermal layer, we’d be able to reduce the heating in our offices. We have branded shirts that we use in the summer, so we agreed to present the possibility of sourcing a thermal/quilted jacket that could be used inside the offices as well as when out on visits or travelling to and from work.”

Rubicon’s Office Division senior recruitment coordinator, Amber Marshall, said: “As a business, we needed to do our bit to help our colleagues and reduce our energy usage. We now have a stylish jacket that brings our various teams even closer together. Our marketing team sourced the jackets and applied embroidered logos to complete the look.”

Abigail Reeves, Rubicon’s marketing manager, said: “Not only will the jackets ensure we stay warm (the feedback has been extremely positive), they’re also a great addition to our branded marketing collateral with the team wearing the jackets for their daily commute and to client visits as well as internally when they feel the chill.” www.rubiconpeople.co.uk
