Chorus Gourdon is a fishing village down by the sea, Gourdon is a special village and it’s hame tae me, A harbour full of fishing boats catching hauls of fish, Deep fried in batter, aye, they make a tasty dish.

Gourdon has a harbour, facing to the south, Rocky and stormy, just at the harbour mouth, In days lang syne gone by, Gourdon had the Maggie Law, The finest inshore surf boat that you ever saw.

Chorus

I like to watch the sea, splash high upon the pier, On a bright and sunny day, the water is sae clear, I like to see the seaweed, washing up against the shore, When I have my fish and chips, I always want some more.

Chorus

There are boats doon in the harbour, chained tae the dock, Sometimes when a boat comes in, it might hit a rock, That’s when the lifeboat, went out on a shout, Bravely saving fishermen, all without a doubt.

Chorus

I live in Gourdon, I live up the brae, The best view in the world, looking right across the bay, Gourdon is my hame, where the wind blows in my face, We a’ think that Gourdon is a really special place.

Chorus
