“We have been continually improving our systems and practices, to help us to become sustainable. The systems allow us to schedule and monitor progress of projects closely, helping us to keep to timeframes, which is very important to not only the contractor, but their clients. “We’re also very focused on health and safety. We’ve just completed prequalification through SiteWise, achieving a Green Light with a score of 86 percent. This gives the main contractor the knowledge that they are dealing with a subcontractor with quality health and safety systems in place. We’re always striving to improve and educate.” CT

If it’s roofing, rural, residential or commercial builds or remodels you desire, then AP Building Ltd is the company to see. “Our variety of work positions us slightly differently than other builders…we do residential and commercial builds as well as a lot of farm buildings and rural builds, particularly within the dairy industry,” says owner Austin Prue.
The company does extensive pre-planning on every project to achieve the best outcome, with project manager Jason Roberts checking the technical aspects of each project. “We believe in good communication between Greg, myself and Jason, right through to all our employees,” Michelle says.

Based in Waimate, AP Building has undertaken many local projects. They are currently working on an exciting major rebuild at the Waimate Racecourse, after the grandstand was damaged when its' roof collapsed from winds in a 2013 storm. Building consents have recently been approved and the project is now well underway and on track for completion in the next few months. “The team we have works really well together,” says Austin. “We are able to keep a closer eye on progress than if we had a big team, which means we can easily rectify any unforeseen problems from the get-go.”
