DESIGN DEVELOPMENT The aerodynamic silhouette and the retractable air bafe on top both underline the unity of truck and trailer. Side windows are integrated in the clean side surfaces of the cabin. Two air-shield handles lead the airstream on both sides of the truck. They also improve the access to the cabin via the integrated footsteps in the air intakes.

V-formation reduces air drag

Changing distance forms a unified body

On highways the distance between truck and trailer is minimized to reduce air turbulences. Only when cooling of the engine is necessary the flaps on both sides of the cabin open inwards.

BMW I-BIKE How can the product range of the BMW i-series be expanded? The answer is an e-bike for the inner-city use in a mega-city, where huge trafďŹ c jams during rush hour are common. BMW thus helps to improve the quality of life in these areas.

UNRESTRICTED MOBILITY

GREEN CENTRES

In order to convince the modern businessman to go by bike, the design should convey a sporty character and unrestricted mobility, just like a mountain bike.

SCULPTURAL FRAME

The shape refers to the current design language of the new BMW i-series. The bike with its uent silhouette proudly presents that it is electrically powered.

FRAME PACKAGE

The frame is fully made of carbon and serves as weather protection for the technical package on the inside: batteries and the electric engine, which is located directly on the drive axle of the pedals, are fully integrated.
