Innovative technology strengthens food safety
Lyras’ newest cold pasteurization solution, with the name “Louis” facilitates easier workflows in the modern dairy.

“Louis” enables pasteurization without heat, thereby no particles burns to the inside surface and this optimizes the CIP-process considerably. Cleaning can be reduced by up to 80% which results in many added benefits. Cold pasteurization inactivates even the toughest thermophile bacterias and spores while achieving a cleaner milk than pasteurizers, bactofuges and microfiltration equipment. Since the UV-light used for cold pasteurization is self-disinfecting, a shorter CIP-process is required and therefore fewer chemicals.
“Louis” lowers the energy consumption of the pasteurization process by more than 90% and the water consumption by more than 60% while the shelf life is prolonged, this is of course without compromising quality and flavour. The quality and the sensory properties of the product are preserved to at greater degree as much less energy is used thus resulting in a gentler process.
The system is designed to optimize HAACP- and CIP-procedures. This is possible because “Louis” is easy to operate, highly efficient and without demand for further assisting infrastructure. Furthermore, there are no glass-food contact, when the product is being pasteurized by “Louis”.
