HELPFUL HINTS No doubt that every bride and groom have some advice to share after planning and experiencing their big day. Learn from the wonderful ideas of others and the not so good ones, as well!

Big Day “Have a personal attendant. This is a girl who is with you and your bridesmaids during the entire wedding weekend. Her job is to help your day be as perfect as you’ve dreamed and to do the things that you (and your bridesmaids) simply cannot. I know it sounds selfish, but it’s not. As The Bride, you have planned this day for months and you can’t make sure that every detail happens. You and your bridesmaids are trying to get ready for pictures and the ceremony. Your parents are likely taking care of final decorations, payments and getting themselves ready. Your coordinator or planner is trying to make sure everyone is in the right place at the right time. As tasks are planned and unexpected things come up, it is a huge help to have someone available to help make your day happen! If you choose the right person, (someone who is always ready and willing to help and who you would trust with your life!) you’ll be so glad you did. Be sure to make her feel as valued and important as she is. I had 7 bridesmaids on stage in my wedding, but really, 8 girls stood by my side that day. Having a personal attendant was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding day!” – Courtney Mendoza, Married 1 year

“A wedding doesn’t have to break the bank to be beautiful and memorable. Be creative. Incorporate friends and family. Borrow items if possible. Keep it simple. Personally, I would rather spend the bulk of my money on a fantastic honeymoon. We didn’t have much money to spend on a wedding, so we came up with some good solutions. I borrowed the perfect wedding gown for me. Some of my family members made the flower bouquets and boutonnieres, baked and decorated the wedding cake (which looked professional), prepared the food for the reception, and my uncle married us. It was a very sweet, beautiful, and meaningful wedding. My two regrets were, I didn’t have a wedding coordinator to help oversee the process or a great photographer to capture all the special moments and lasting memories. A good wedding coordinator would have reduced my stress level, so I wouldn’t have had to run around getting last minute things ready.” – Bonnie Rhome, Married 32 years
