Meet Our Cover Model Ms. Heljanet Matiah

Born in September 1999, in Sanniqualli, Nimba County, Heljanet’s parents are the late James Matiah and Victoria K Matiah. She is the youngest of seven childred. Heljanet attended Carvery Baptist and St. Peter’s Lutheran High School. In 2020 she enrolled at the University of Liberia where she is currently pursuing degrees in Accountant and Management.

Like many other Liberian families with single parent income, Heljanet’s mother struggled to care for her family after the death of her husband. In a sociate where women are still considered as second class citizen, Heljanet is fighting to break the status quo by completing her studies and making an impact in Liberia.

“ I sometimes find it difficult getting on campus, but I’m motivated by my love for learning and succeeding as I strive to become an oustanding woman in today’s society.”

Modeling is her passion, and she is grateful for the opportunity to work with Mackeline International Fashion Magazine.
