Select Items from Arthur Lodge, Edinburgh Arthur Lodge itself has been the perfect setting for antique furniture and works of art, which has as much to show on the inside as it does outside: various rooms have been decorated with colourful murals and friezes, Norwegian oak panelling, Venetian embroidered velvet doors and Ionic columns. Similarly, it's history includes various interesting former residents from the Antarctic explorer and co-founder of the Scottish National Party, artist William Burn-Murdoch, to QC John Pinkerton and conservator Jack Howells. The latter bought the Lodge in the 1980s and undertook a large Neoclassical restoration project of the property, before it was purchased by the most recent former residents in 2002. Lyon & Turnbull are pleased to include the select contents of Arthur Lodge in our autumnal sale, showcasing pieces from Georgian and Regency furniture to Victorian works of art, as well as Chinese ceramics and French bedroom furniture.
