ounded by Declan McGinn in Swords, Co. Dublin in 1987, Street & Park Equipment Co Ltd is now headed up by husband-and-wife Colm and Sharon Carton. Colm joined the company in 1990 before acquiring it in 2009 from Declan who is, however, still involved in an advisory capacity. Over the past 26 years, Street & Park Equipment has established a tradition of value-for-money and total dedication to customer service. As a family-run business, it is able to offer its customers a personal touch and will go to great lengths to ensure their needs are looked after. Street & Park Equipment supplies a wide and varied range of products that can be found in practically every town and village in Ireland. These products include floodlighting/highmasts, lighting columns, amenity lighting, heritage lighting, litter bins, street furniture, cycle holders, flagpoles, traffic bollards, car park reservation posts, pedestrian guard rails and pedestrian crossing equipment. The company also specialises in sports lighting, which has taken off in a big way
in Ireland over the past decade or so. Representing leading UK-based manufacturing companies such as DW Windsor, Charles Endirect, Valmont Stainton, Simmonsigns and Harvard as their Irish trading partners, Street & Park Equipment can offer a greater range of street and park lighting and furniture than any other company of its kind in this country. “We’ve been working out of our premises in Cloghran, Swords for the past 15 years supplying everything from lighting columns to bollards and pedestrian crossing equipment. We’re right beside the M50 and Dublin Airport which makes us easily accessible to all our customers and suppliers,” Colm says. “We are exclusive Irish agents for Harvard, DW Windsor and Valmont Stainton whose products are among the best in the industry. We employ four staff, including Patrick Redmond who is our Sales & Marketing Manager. Patrick is one first-name terms with many of our customers. “While we supply mainly to public
lighting contractors who work on behalf of the NRA (National Roads Authority), we also deal directly with local authorities. Our customers include the likes of Electric Skyline, Al Reid Electrical, Sabre Electrical Services and Sean Ahern Electrical, who are all highly reputable companies in the industry.” Street & Park Equipment can offer a specialised service supplying amenity/street lighting columns, high masts, floodlighting poles, tramway and mobile phone structures, transmission and distribution poles, flagpoles and CCTV poles. Columns and masts come in aluminium, galvanised and stainless steel. Street and Park furniture is also an integral part of the company’s product range. Products in this line include a variety of bollards, including decorative rail and chain posts, tree guards, tree grids and traffic bollards, litter bins, cycle holders/shelters, pedestrian guardrails and security/car park reservation posts.
