Fueling success

One of the essential products that we rely on a daily basis is fuel, whether it be for the home, car or business. Fuel, in whatever guise it form is something that we can't do without.

T

he price of home heating oil has become something of a contentious issue as prices soar. Customers have become more price conscious in recent times and they are willing top shop around a lot more. However, some long standing businesses have continued to provide a top level service to its customer at competitive rates. Beatty Fuels is a success story born out of hard work, creative thinking and adherence to the principal that the customer is king. The business was established by George Beatty and for this edition of Irish Trucker, we speak to his nephew Chris about the success of the business. "We started off from very humble beginnings in our home village of Ballinamallard but we have worked hard over the years to build up our business. And with the help and support of the local community and many more people from far and wide, the business has grown and developed and continues to prosper thankfully," said Chris. From operating a very small

enterprise, literally from his own backyard, George has overseen the development of his business to the point where it is now one of the largest independent, family-run businesses involved in the oil and solid fuel industry on these islands. Ballinamallard is located in the heartland of rural Fermanagh, some six miles from the bustling market town of Enniskillen in the scenic north-west of the Lakeland County. For George and co. home has been good to them as they've been good to Ballinamallard. The company is a valuable local employer, providing gainful, profitable employment to over 40 people. Beatty Fuels and the general population of the greater Ballinamallard area have enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship for more than two decades now. Chris understands and appreciates the way that relationship has evolved. "The fact that George started the business from scratch meant that he had an uphill task to make the business a success. He had to rely on the local community near us here in

county Fermanagh for their support and loyal patronage in order for us to get up and running and stay running. "Fortunately, the public showed great confidence in us and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who stuck by us and afforded us so much goodwill, advice and assistance over the years. Beatty Fuels continues to move on, to grow and embellish its reputation as very much a customer-orientated company. It has moved, literally, in keeping with its philosophy to service the needs of its customers to the optimum level. In this respect, we are reminded that Beatty Fuels moved from its original base to the townland of Siloon, just outside Ballinamallard where a major investment was made by the company towards the construction of a new yard which played host to a semi-automatic bag packing machine. "At the time, some people said we were mad spending so much money in relocating and investing in new machinery but we felt it was a risk worth taking and thankfully it paid off. We are now in a position to supply
