yall’s Farm & Industrial Equipment has been supplying and servicing quality farm and plant machinery to customers across the greater Cork and Munster regions for three-and-a-half decades. We visited their Watergrasshill base to find out more about this top-class family enterprise from director Trevor Ryall.

The Ryall name is simply synonymous with farm machinery. Since the genesis of the family business in 1981, they have provided the farming community throughout Cork and beyond with unrivalled products and customer service. The company has experienced steady organic growth since its inception, on the back of providing its growing customer base with an ever-increasing range of products. Ryall’s Farm & Industrial Equipment is Ireland’s longest-established Landini dealer, having been selling and servicing this renowned Italian brand of tractor for more than 30 years. In 2003, Ryall’s were appointed main dealer in Cork for McCormick tractors, a move which has enabled them to expand their business based largely on the success of the X60 and MTX series. There was further progress this year when Ryall’s were appointed Solis dealers for Cork. Solis’ value-for-money tractors complement the Landini and IRISH TRACTOR & AGRI

The new Landini 5H Series, from 88hp to 113hp, is designed to provide superior comfort and visibility. These tractors come with a higher hydraulic capacity than in the past, now at 93 litres/min. They are fitted with a new easy-to-use power shuttle system with modulation control, which can be tailored to suit individual farmer / contractor needs. The new McCormick X7 Series includes three X7.4, four-cylinder tractors, with power from 143hp to 166hp, and three McCormick X7.6, six-cylinder tractors, with power ratings from 175hp to 212hp. These are equipped with Betapower Tier 4 Interim common-rail engines that have dual power and deliver superior torque rise and low fuel consumption relative to the competition. Meanwhile, Ryall’s have also been selling the Major (renowned for quality grass toppers and slurry tankers) and Tanco (leaders in bale wrapping technology) ranges of farm machinery since the early 1980s. In 2004, Ryall’s Hire was launched to

provide quality equipment hire to both the agri and construction sectors. Ryall’s are now one of the premier hire companies in the Rebel County, with equipment hired to every major civil engineering and construction project in Cork as well as all over Ireland and the UK. Two years ago, Ryall’s expanded their product range further when taking on the Lely and Maschio dealerships for Cork. Lely is an acknowledged leader in grassland machinery, while Maschio is developing an excellent reputation as an international leader in producing highquality tillage equipment. The Ryalls point out that these two brands are particularly suited to Irish conditions, while both boast excellent design and build quality. The reaction this far has been extremely positive. The superb Lely Grassland range includes Splendimo mowers, Lotus tedders, Hibiscus rakes and Welger balers. Offering substantial fuel savings, the Lely Splendimo Range comprises mowers from 1.65 - 3.6m; mower
