Keeping good company

Over four decades since its genesis, McAuliffe Trucking Company is still going strong, servicing the haulage and distribution needs of local and national companies, big and small. Irish Trucker popped into the company base in the Kingdom to get an update from manager Davy Corkery.

M

cAuliffe Trucking Company – headquartered at Fahaduff, Castleisland, County Kerry – is owned by Mike McAuliffe, who has forged a stellar reputation in the trucking industry for efficiency, dependability, service and integrity. Established in January, 1970, the company specialises in providing a wide

range of haulage solutions, offering a keen national and international service that comprises everything from grain to fridges, tankers to curtainsiders etc. McAuliffe Trucking Company was founded by the proprietor’s father and has gone from strength to strength over the intervening four decades and more. Boasting a great tradition and an illustrious history, McAuliffe Trucking Company stays true to its core founding values of quality service, punctuality and competitive rates, making it one of the most sought-after haulage companies in the south of Ireland. Day-to-day operations are overseen by company managers Declan Mangan and Davy Corkery, both of whom have been part of the McAuliffe Trucking Company team for over 20 years. As with any

haulage firm, McAuliffe has had to adapt, diversify and move with the times. I asked Davy how things have changed in the past few years: “I suppose we’re doing even more continental work now,” he states. “We do a lot of runs to Germany and Truly Irish Country Foods would be one of our main clients now. We also do a lot of work for North South Pig Company, which is another combination of farmers. We’re doing a good bit of tanker work as well.” Central to the success of McAuliffe Trucking company are two key factors: experienced, competent and professional staff plus a modern fleet of superbly-maintained vehicles. The stringent and routine fleet maintenance / servicing / repairs / work is carried out literally in-house by Kerry Truck Sales, which is a sister company, also owned by Mike McAuliffe. Investment in the tractors and trailers is ongoing to ensure IRISH TRUCKER & LIGHT COMMERCIALS
