Six Quick Tips About Pre-Wedding Photography Packages in Singapore

My boyfriend and I met while taking photography classes. We tried to outdo each other by posting creative yet unique photos in Instagram. Friends loved it! We even thought to ourselves that maybe one day, we can have a photography business, doing what we love. Why not? In the meantime, we worked hard in our nine-to-five jobs, saving for that day when we can open our own photo shop. On the way home after a particularly stressful day, my boyfriend suggested we pass by the photo booth near the MRT and take some wacky photos. That sounded fun so off we went. Imagine my surprise when after what seemed like our fifth photo, he pulled out a ring and surprised me with a proposal. Everything was captured in photo – from my surprised face to our tearful exchanges after I said ‘Yes’. We went home giddy with the idea that we are getting married!

After sharing the good news with our family and friends, they were so excited to help us plan for the wedding. So, we started searching for wedding photography packages in Singapore. I did not realize that there were so many to choose from. They provided a variety of services - gown rentals, prewedding shoots and actual day wedding photography and videography. I asked my sister to find some pre wedding photography packages in Singapore with good reviews. My fiancĂŠe and I loved the idea of having a walk down memory lane in our old hangouts.

In just a few weeks, we started shooting our pre-wedding photos. It was such a positive experience that we wanted to share some tips with other engaged couples.

Meeting our photographer Our photographer shared his portfolio of various wedding photography packages in Singapore. I must admit that his photo shots were very impressive. Although still single and younger than we expected, he was as excited as we were about the wedding, sharing many creative ideas for the shoots. With his bubbly personality, it was like chatting to an old friend – sharing how we met and the highlights of our relationship. Like a movie director, he helped us recapture those positive feelings prior to each shoot.

Our unique story We wanted our photos to tell our story as a couple – the classroom where we first met, the hawker stall where we had our first snack, the park bench where we broke up, and the chalet vacation where we decided to stay committed to each other. For fun, our photographer suggested that we recreate each other’s favorite mannerisms. That was memorable.

Choosing the best locations We chose five special locations for our pre-wedding shots. Without our knowing, our photographer visited these places beforehand, taking note of the lighting, crowded times and inquired about any permission (or fees) required. For crowded areas, we shot as early as possible to avoid prying eyes.

Looking our best We were advised to sleep for a full eight hours prior to the shoot. I had my hair and makeup done by an expert stylist. Happy with the results, I still looked myself (only better). My fiancĂŠe looked handsome, looking fresh with his new haircut and twinkling eyes.

Privacy Since we found it hard to act naturally with a stranger taking our photos, our photographer used longer lens so that he can shoot from afar. We were coached to just simply relax, talking and laughing as we normally do.

Variety The photos were not just about our faces. We also wanted romantic shots of our holding hands, our footsteps in the sand, and our collection of gifts as a couple. Overall, the results were amazing. And we had so much fun during the shoots. We highly suggest that engaged couples consider the various pre wedding photography packages in Singapore. Definitely, this is something that they can show their future kids and grandchildren.
