not much wall space, the only way the kitchen was going to work was to have a multi-purpose island. This clever design solution acts a natural barrier between the cooking and eating areas and incorporates 10 bar stools, 2 dishwashers, 2 bins a gas hob, wide pan drawers and large storage cupboards. The cabinetry from the Suffolk Range by Neptune offered great quality

and value for money whilst the 2 stainless steel Sub-Zero fridges at the far end of the kitchen injected a sleek finish to the soft palette in the rest of the room. The result typifies Emma’s approach to the whole refurbishment. Each interior space is layered with an artful balance of classic designs, impeccable lighting and a muted colour palette.

The overall effect is one of easygoing grace. The overall feeling is one of comfort and character: which is the perfect combination for a modern city family living in such an historic country setting. SIMS-HILDITCH www.simshilditch.com
