Game On!
BY LISA COWNIE
Belgrade Avenue in lower North Mankato is home to bars, restaurants, home goods and even a med spa clinic. Christina Butler knew that amidst all of those other locallyowned businesses, there would be room for one more. A healthy, fast-food option to add into the mix. She opened Game On Nutrition in February of 2020, a mom on a mission.
“We want North Katoans to know we have one mission and that is to help make this world happier and healthier on all levels— physically by providing good nutrition and mentally by knowing we are a safe place, a loving place, a welcoming place,” says Butler. “We try to make you leave happier then when you came in.”
Butler owned a nutrition club in Le Sueur but saw opportunity and fell in love with the culture along Belgrade.
“We chose North Mankato because we believe in a healthy variety of fast-food options and we knew North Mankato could use a healthy option,” she says. “We offer delicious meal replacement shakes that you wouldn’t even believe are healthy for you because they taste so good! We also offer energy teas, that you will be surprised are labeled as a “tea.” They boost metabolism and provide you with healthy energy. We also offer wellness coaching with our at home programs for weight loss, daily nutrition, and weight gain.”

The healthy options she offers are founded on Herbalife products.
“I became interested in Herbalife after utilizing the products for a couple years and seeing great results. I wanted to share that excitement with friends, family, and strangers. I was then exposed to other nutrition clubs in our team and fell in love with offering a healthy fast food that helps people live a healthier lifestyle. The people I meet, the friendships that are built, helping people meet goals such as being able to have the energy to play with their kids to losing the weight to get down to their children’s levels.”

Children are another thing that sets Game On apart, they are welcome there. Butler even hosts events so moms can enjoy socializing with their shakes, while the kids engage in organized activities.
“Our best surprise, I would say is how involved and welcoming our customers are with our two little boys,” she says. “We have a very family-oriented business and watching our customers build relationships with us and our children is the best feeling ever.”
