Building Community
BY ASHLEY HANLEY
As the weather turns to spring, North Mankato residents are eagerly anticipating the warmer weather, the flowers blooming and the sound of pounding nails and buzzing saws as the construction season ramps back up.
North Mankato is home to several booming construction companies. One such company is founded, directed, run and employed by a father and two sons that take pride in their service, experience and professionalism.
Ardolf Construction Services (ACS) LLC was founded in 2020 by Tyler, Brian and Josh Ardolf. They are a familyowned business that provides general contracting and home remodeling to residents in Mankato, Madelia and surrounding areas in Minnesota.
“Our story started with my father, Brian, who has been in the construction and building industry for over 35 years,” says Josh.

Although they haven’t officially had their own business for too long, they more than make up for it in experience. With a combined 60-plus years of experience between the family, there is no secondguessing the reason the company is growing exponentially.
“Our company’s success is attributed to the relationship we have built with our clients and their strong referrals. At ACS, we know the quality of the next reference will only be as good as the quality of the job we perform today. More than 80% of ACS clients are repeat business and more than 90% of new clients are the result of direct referrals from existing clients,” Josh says.

All in the family, this father and his two sons continue building community in North Kato.
Based out of their home address on Pleasant View Drive in North Mankato, they specialize in residential and commercial construction, whether it’s new construction or remodels.
“Whether you’re considering remodeling a single room such as a kitchen or bathroom remodel, building a commercial suite, or looking to rebuild your home from the ground up, our team can help guide you through the process seamlessly. We are both a general contractor and specialty contractor, along with a great team of tradespeople we work with,” adds Josh.
He says North Mankato is a special place for his family and his business because of the strong sense of community felt throughout the area.
“North Mankato is a special place to ACS as it is our central point to all our projects and customers. Our business exists due to the ongoing support of the community and without them we wouldn’t be where we are today,” Josh says.
That community support has helped them grow and prosper, even during the worldwide challenges of the last few years. COVID has changed the nature of the work they do, especially in the construction industry. Supply chain issues, inflation and high demand are just a few of the challenges felt by the construction industry.
“The supply and demand have taken a hit and most of us are still trying to keep our heads above water. Given the nature of our job we had to be very flexible with the ongoing changes in the industry, which includes delayed shipments, inflated prices as well as lack of availability with sub-contractors. Patience, perseverance, and teamwork has assisted us in navigating these challenges,” he says.

But even with the challenges that have hit every industry nationwide, Josh and his family have always kept an upbeat and positive attitude.
“We love to see the smiling faces of our customers knowing that rebuilds and remodels can be stress-inducing. At ACS, our reputation with our clients is the cornerstone of our company and as such the most rewarding piece is seeing and hearing happy customers,” Josh says.
ACS is closing in on 1,000 customers. But more than numbers, their reputation is built on the volumes of satisfied customers.
“In the construction industry, repeat and referral business speak volumes for quality work, fair pricing and personal care. We are thankful to see growth and support from the community. We are very grateful for our customers as our business continues to grow,” Josh adds.
