One of the world’s premier dance companies makes its first visit to Canada in 14 years – and its first ever to Toronto. Stunning stage images and the sheer sensuality of bodies in motion will captivate your senses as Nederlands Dans Theater presents a program comprised of three of its most thrilling pieces.
And in The Second Person, choreographed by Canada’s own Crystal Pite, puppetry symbolizes the relationship between the individual and society.
Dance combines with video projection and a remarkable rotating set in Lightfoot/Léon’s Shoot the Moon, opening a window into the anguish of a love triangle. The dramatic image of an inverted tree hangs over Jiři Kylián’s hauntingly beautiful Wings of Wax – the stage, perhaps, becoming the sky as the dancers dart and weave like birds in flight.
A dazzling kinetic spectacle that will never fail to take you by surprise.
