In reflecting on his success, Guevarra expressed his surprise and gratitude for the achievement, stating, “To be honest, hindi ko talaga inexpect na magtop 1 sa board. Nangyari lang na binigay sakin yung pagiging top 1.”
Guevarra emphasized the importance of aiming high and putting in consistent effort.
“Para sa’kin, lahat naman may kakayahang magtop sa board, it’s just a matter of the amount of effort na ibubuhos mo,” he said.
Guevarra also acknowledged the significance of guidance and support from others in honing one’s talents.
“Binigay sayo yan kaya need mo ng guidance kung pano mo gagamitin yung talent na yon,” he added.
With his remarkable achievement, Guevarra serves as an inspiration and highlights the excellence fostered by BSHS and Rizal Technological University in shaping future professionals in the field of electrical engineering.
QCLGU donates school supplies
To help lessen the burden of parents in providing school materials necessary for students, the Quezon City Local Government Unit (QCLGU) donated school supply kits to Grade 7 and Grace 8 students at Bagong Silangan High School from October 7 to 12, 2022.
Stationeries such as coloured papers, A4-size bond papers, intermediate pads, pencils, and pens are included in the school supply kits placed inside red bags which are distributed to the students.
After receiving the school kit, a Grade 7 student expresses her gratitude. She said that the school supplies will help them since they do not have to buy a set of new ones.
“Masaya, kasi meron na po kaming school supplies. Hindi na po kami bibili, makakatulong din ito. As our parents need not to buy these school supplies anymore.”
Furthermore, teachers and school’s non-teaching personnels also received the school kits.
BSHS Launches Career Orientation Program
To help Grade 10 students make informed decisions about their Senior High School (SHS) track, Bagong Silangan High School (BSHS) recently launched a career orientation program on February 28, 2023.
The program was organized by BSHS in collaboration with more than 20 senior high schools around the area.
Through the program, Grade 10 students were provided with the opportunity to meet representatives from different schools and gather information about the upcoming school year of 20232024.
This included presentations from each school about their campuses and booths where students could gather information about different courses and requirements for enrollment.
According to Antonio Lumandaz, a Grade 10 student, the program helped him to decide which school to attend based on the requirements that the schools showed and offered.
“Para sa akin ano yung career orientation is binigyan ako ng idea at tinulungan akong pumili ng strand na dapat kung piliin base sa kakayahan ko and sa connected course rin na kukunin ko sa college,” he said.
The career orientation program at BSHS is part of a larger effort to provide students with the tools and resources necessary to make informed decisions about their academic and career paths.
