High percentage of low literacy could be attributed to the effects of Covid-19 which widen the learning gap.
As the scorching summer heat continues to affect various parts of the country, the Department of Education (DepEd) has advised school heads to consider adapting classes from in-person to alternative delivery modes.
In line with these concerns, Bagong Silangan High School (BSHS) has recently implemented a new schedule of classes, separating boys and girls into different schedules to reduce the heat caused by overcrowded rooms.

From May 8 to 12, all boys will attend school while girls will have their turn from May 15 to 19. This schedule lasts until June 2.
I believe the new schedule of classes is a step in the right direction, as it allows us to manage the overcrowding issue and provides a more comfortable learning environment, prioritizing the well-being of our students during these weather conditions.
