Facendo avanzare velocemente gli anni, possiamo notare nel grafico come i cambiamenti si susseguono: la rivoluzione industriale, l’influenza spagnola, la grande depressione, la seconda guerra mondiale, ad ogni avvenimento corrisponde un movimento della popolazione. Poi nel 1948 cominciano gli anni di abbondanza, ma ancora la maggior parte delle popolazioni risiede nella zona più povera. Nel corso di circa 70 anni i paesi che si trovavano tra la povertà e la fascia media si sono spostati fino ad arrivare tra la fascia media e la ricchezza. Ci sono ancora paesi che vivono in condizioni di povertà, ma malgrado il divario, oggi la situazione è migliore rispetto al passato, il divario storico storico tra ovest ed est si sta rimpicciolendo e tutti possono riuscire ad arrivare all’angolo di salute e ricchezza. Quindi se abbiamo un quadro della situazione attuale basato sui fatti e non sui preconcetti, possiamo essere in grado di comprendere cosa succederà in futuro e quali azioni intraprendere oggi in modo da essere pronti per il domani.

In 1948, there starts to be an increase in wealth, but most of the population is still in the poorest zone on the graph. In the next 70 years countries which were between poverty and the middle band have moved to be between the middle band and the rich one. There are still countries living in conditions of poverty but despite the gap, today, the situation is better compared to the past. The historical gap between the west and east is diminishing and everybody can get to the corner of health and wealth. Thus if we picture the actual situation based on facts and not on preconceptions, we can understand what will happen in the future and what actions to take today in order to be ready for tomorrow.
