EX TEN SION PROG RAM Would you like to see much more of Myanmar’s cultural life and scenic beauty? Then choose your own holiday extension from the following shore program and find out for yourself why the famous words of Rudyard Kipling, written back in 1889, are just as apt today – ‘This is Burma and it’s like no other country you will ever know….’:
Mahamuni Pagoda in Mandalay
Yangon [Rangoon] (2 nights): Absorb Myanmar‘s largest city and Burma‘s former capital with its gleaming golden Shewdagon pagoda; this old Buddhist shrine is Yangon‘s symbol and the country‘s most important and most famous sacred building, making it the religious centre for the whole country. Inle Lake (3 nights): This picturesque freshwater lake lies in the hilly Shan state in Eastern Myanmar. At an altitude of 900m above sea level, Inle Lake is one of the country‘s major tourist attractions. Its natural villages of houses built on stilts and its floating gardens are fascinating. Bangkok (3 nights): Thailand‘s capital reflects the ambitious progress of this part of the world like no other Southeastern Asian city. Enjoy traditional Thai hospitality and the fascinating contrasts that give Bangkok its special charm.
