NEWSLETTER Matthew Dye 1960– 2008 San Diego, CA- We are heartbroken to report that Matt Dye, son of Roy and Ann Dye; brother to Andy, Cynthia, Carolyn, Mary, Elsie, Brooksie and Luke; nephew of Pete and cousin to Perry and P.B., has passed on after an extended battle with colon cancer. Over the last 17 years, Matt Dye had established himself on the list of top golf course designers worldwide. He was highly respected, not only as a designer, but as a businessman with the highest regard for his clients’ needs. He had an impeccable reputation with all who worked for him and with him.

Despite building golf courses throughout the world and being part of a famous golf design family, Matthew Dye's true pleasure was his family and friends. His motto, "the more the merrier," described the warmth and love of others that made him beloved. Dye went through life simply adding more and more friends. He was a great story teller with a mischievous sense of humor. Matthew loved bringing people together. He made connections between people he knew could help each other, picking up the phone, talking a little, listening a little, and encouraging everyone, whether for business or fun, wherever he could--always thinking how to bring us together.

Matthew died at home Matt- we love you so much and will August 19th, with his fammiss you always. ily. He leaves behind wife “Keep it in the fairway!” Karen and three children. He was 48. Matt designed golf courses in Thailand, Japan, New Zealand and Cabo San Lucas, as well as closer to home in Arizona, California, Kentucky, Nevada and Utah. Dye was awarded a Presidential Citation for his leadership in design by the American Society of Golf Course Architects, acknowledging his skill for cost-effective and enjoyable courses. Golf Digest named his Ledges course in St. George, Utah, one of the 10 best new public courses in 2007.

LykiaLinks Scheduled to Open November, 2008 Antalya, Turkey- We are excited to announce the opening of the first-ever Dye Desgins project in Turkey, LykiaLinks. The over 7,500 yard links-style course will be part of the new LykiaWorld resort in Antalya, Turkey. LykiaLinks is a very special piece of ground, located right on the ocean and boasting beautiful views of the Mediterranean and the mountains. There are few similar sites in the world, let alone in Turkey. The undulating topography and natural vegetation on the

site were so wonderful, many natural elements were preserved, adding to the design’s natural aesthetics. “Some of the approaches to the greens will have a Scottish flair, along with the traditional Dye design of bunkers, heavy waste areas, undulating fairways and strategic risk/reward drives off the tee that allow a golfer to cut the corners if they can,” says Perry Dye. “Golfers will realize that this is a real, world-class design worth recommending to their friends.”

LykiaLinks is scheduled to open in November, 2008.
