Who We Are A new vision for wealth management EICM (formerly East India Capital Management) was founded in 2012 in Singapore by institutional investments veteran Simon Hopkins along with an entrepreneurial team of professionals. Singapore has long been a popular destination for investors thanks to its strong legal framework, low-tax regime, stable currency, and position as a springboard into the world’s fastest growing markets of Asia. Yet new regulations in the aftermath of the Global Financial Crisis increased the compliance burden on banks, causing many to withdraw important services from investors across many jurisdictions. The firm sought to fill a critical gap by combining sophisticated, institutional-quality investment capability with a personal, family-oriented approach. Today, MAS-regulated EICM is able to provide all the advantages of carefully chosen private banking platforms while also offering a wide range of customised and discretionary wealth solutions, covering non-bankable and bankable assets. The different tools (see What We Do) range from customised fund structures and co-investment syndicates to business advisory and estate planning: a swiss army knife for your family’s financial needs.

Why Our Clients Choose Us Ethos Like our clients, entrepreneurship is in our DNA. We understand their unique challenges and put their individual needs first. Trust and shared values are at the heart of our business. We demand exceptional standards of probity and discretion from every member of the team. Corporate social responsibility is a priority: social, environmental and ethical considerations are integrated into our processes and those of our partners. As a group, we are represented at the International Sustainability Unit (ISU) and support the Principles of Responsible Investment (PRI).

Efficiency We provide proprietary transparent solutions on regulated platforms and leverage relationships to achieve efficient pricing and execution for our clients. Economic alignment is crucial: well designed performance fee structures create appropriate risk sharing and a balance of incentives. Fees are transparent and we seek to avoid unnecessary layers of fees in investments.

Expertise With a disciplined investment process, experienced team and reliable time-tested relationships, EICM provides investment opportunities and services that are usually only available to institutions. This includes expertise in asset classes that capture strong growth trends: non-traditional investments and emerging markets. Our team also bring insight from a diverse range of industries: engineering, hospitality, agriculture, travel and technology.

Customised wealth solutions EICM provides discreet, secure and intelligent ways for family offices, HNWIs, corporates and others to manage their assets. With sophisticated investment management at the core of our service, we structure diversified investment portfolios based around their individual risk profiles and goals. Clients also access integral banking, corporate finance and estate planning services tailored to meet their needs in a cost efficient fashion. We help our clients manage their banking relationships through the External Asset Manager relationship we have with banks in Singapore and other robust financial centres. By doing so, we provide access to a range of services at wholesale prices, and offer our clients the specialist investment skills typically only available to the biggest institutions and hedge funds. Our merchant banking capabilities include arranging secured or unsecured lending facilities, equity raises, divestments and more. Governance and educational support make EICM a full family funds service.

What we do

Smart structuring with Fund Solutions With a range of transparent, regulated investment platforms in Cayman, Ireland and Mauritius, assets can be housed in the vehicle and domicile that is most appropriate for each client. Assets are managed by separate entities in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Singapore. These different arrangements serve a range of objectives. Clients can appoint an arms-length asset manager, achieve the appropriate level of risk and diversification, maximise tax efficiency, and even invite co-investors or debt providers to join them in commingled vehicles. Support with tax, compliance, regulation, legal and other administrative affairs comes as standard. The firm has structured vehicles for assets in Africa, South East Asia, Latin America, Australasia, India, the UK and the USA.

Co-investments and Syndications Co-investment structures – where clients can co-invest alongside other clients on deals that EICM originates and syndicates – have proven particularly important in a number of cases. Few of our peers offer this capability.

Merchant Banking The merchant banking piece of the business is an integral part of our offering, and seeks to provide clients a holistic solution combining wealth and investment solutions with corporate finance. This is where EICM goes beyond being a pure wealth manager to support clients in their business and financial needs. Among other things, we provide access to an array of M&A and financial solutions incorporating equity, debt, mezzanine, project finance, trade finance, and share finance. We also provide business owners the benefit of our network of strategic relationships. We believe we cannot truly grow until our clients grow, and our work bears testimony to that.

9

Our Offerings Professional should not mean conventional. We go beyond the simplistic, scalable asset management strategies that are often offered to private clients. The best opportunities lie off the beaten path.

Science and Technology Disruptive innovation is a priority for anyone seeking growth in today’s investment climate. EICM clients receive privileged access to thoroughly vetted opportunities across a range of risk/return profiles. These include The British Innovation Fund, the Asian Innovation Fund, and the Cerracap II Fund (U.S. technology).

Agriculture EICM’s partner, Milltrust Agricultural Investments, is one of the few asset managers that provides exposure to income-generating farmland as an asset class, focusing on Australia, New Zealand and Chile.

Asian Film Many of our clients know the film industry inside out. The EICM Asian Film Fund combines passion with investment discipline. As the Asian middle class emerges, films are no longer a starry-eyed gamble: they offer predictable cash flows and low correlation with traditional assets. Many films recover production costs before audiences even see the result.

Emerging Equities Macro trends continue to propel the emerging market story, while skilful stock-picking adds significant alpha. We currently use Milltrust Emerging Market Solutions - a suite of funds run by leading locally-based managers in key emerging economies.

Hospitality From the foothills of the Himalayas to the picturesque resorts of South East Asia, the EICM South Asian Hospitality Funds (I and II) identify and develop high quality, rigorously assessed hotel and leisure opportunities, also providing last-mile funding at advantageous pricing.

Strategic Relationships Standing on the Shoulders of Giants Our partnerships not only provide sectoral expertise, international reach and attractive costs, they also allow us to access opportunities not traditionally available to private, non-institutional, investors. Through our relationship with CITIC Securities we received access to Grab’ s Series G fundraising round. It is through Silicon Valley based Founders Fund partners that we have been able to offer our clients access to some market leading tech unicorns. Through Cerracap, a leading US technology venture capital firm that chose EICM as its partner for the Cerracap II Fund, we were able to access Ai, deep learning and healthcare companies such as Deep Instinct, Fifth Dimension and Viome. Our partners at East West Capital bring decades of experience in the healthcare domain identifying medical applications and therapeutics which will profoundly alter our lives in the coming years. Notwithstanding an experienced in-house team, today’ s ever-changing world means that it is through our extensive network of partnerships that we will continue to expand our horizons and broaden the opportunities for our clients.

Partnerships in MENA and LatAm In Africa, Milltrust International Group has a longstanding relationship with BMCE Bank International, the largest bank in North Africa, with a presence in 13 sub-Saharan countries through its controlling interest in the Bank of Africa, and a nearly two decade long partnership with Novare, one of the largest indigenous asset managers in Africa. We have recently partnered with its founder, now also CEO of Cape Town-based Alternative Investment Partners (AIP) - Johan Henn.
