In ancient eastern culture, the pray wheels are present nearby the front desk - as it is believed in ancient eastern culture to bring good luck and safety. At the same time, when people walks on the bridge, they can use their hand to interact with this pray wheel, which attract their attentions and help them to engage with the space. These ancient elements express the idea of “good luck” and “welcome”. This bridge allows visitors to enter the Zen atmosphere in the interior space.

TEA HOUSE ---- “Zen

In this tea house, space planning can be changed by the column cover which can also be used as temporary wall partition. Two layers made this column cover, the first layer is felt as the backing, the second layer is veneer wood. Glueing the wood layer on felt to make the shape flexible. p The process of this design : 1, Using a flat piece of paper to flod and score the line.It will create an 3D shape(3-1) which will be used as ceiling panel. 2, Making this 3D shape to 2D shape again. Using laser cut to create the pattern on wood then glue this pattern on felt. This is the process of pattern changing from 2D--3D --2D--3D

[] Bracket House Residental project for people over 65 years old

Bracket is not just a shape but also a verb which means bracket

I used the bracket shapes to break the normal height of each room, so that it is easy for older people to access. I also used the gap of different heights between brackets shapes to make them muilt-purpose in a way that uses space more effectively. I break down the number of stairs, which make sure every 9 stair steps must have one plat for old people to land and rest.

Name: Zhi Han This is my grandma, She is 67 years old. Her hobbies are reading, cooking, singing and drawing . Her Leg has varicosity. Thus, she need rest after her climb 9 stair steps. She has lots of small pieces of antiques and she will show them to every guests.

Name:

Guorong Ni

This is my grandpa, he is 70 years old. His hobbies are reading, writing, walking and collecting . He needs a lot of space for his articles and books. He always spends 8 hours a day in his office room. During his writing process, he always walks around in space to find inspiration.

[ ] Bookshelves Stair The combination of booksheves and stairs I tried to extend the shape of “Bracket” and a different scale of this shape to create more possibilities to have more functions. The space under stairs can be used as a book exhibition and wine serving table for guests. I break down the normal height of each floor to create some landings with different heights. This design is good for senior people who have to disable to climb one-floor height stairs. Thus, they will have some landings to take a breath. In each landing height, there will be the following program like the restroom, dining area, office area, balcony and so on. Inside the structure of each stair steps, there will be small night lights for people to see the edge of each step. The structures of bookshelves and stair can become the handle for older people.
