Baton Rouge Soccer Club Executive Director Gary Buete has joined Brian Lee’s coaching staff as a volunteer assistant to work with the development of LSU’s talented group of goalkeepers during the 2012 season. Buete has orchestrated the rise of one of the state’s premier club programs over the past 12 years as the BRSC has captured more than 40 Louisiana state titles among all age groups since the summer of 2000. It has also doubled in participation from 3,500 players when Buete was appointed executive director to nearly 7,000 players in the organization during the 2012 season. A six-year veteran of the Region III Olympic Development Program Team coaching staff, Buete has been the assistant head coach for the 1998 and 1999 groups in the Region III ODP system for two years. He has also served as a member of the Louisiana ODP coaching staff during his tenure. In addition, Buete was named the first

Buete received his undergraduate degree in exercise physiology from Lander University in 1994 before he earned his master’s degree in sport management from East Tennessee State University in 1996. He earned NSCAA All-America honors as a junior college standout. Buete has earned a United States Soccer Federation “A” License and a National Youth License. He is also an instructor for the USSF “E”, “D” and “C” level coaching licenses and youth modules.
While pursuing his Masters of Business Administration at LSU, Josh McReynolds has joined the LSU Soccer program as the team’s Director of Soccer Operations for the 2012 season. McReynolds spearheads the day-to-day operation of the LSU Soccer program, including the scheduling of team travel and gameday operations. His administrative duties also include the scheduling of team meetings and meals, organizing equipment distribution and coordinating video exchange. He has also been instrumental in the growth and success of LSU’s summer camps while assisting head coach Brian Lee, associate head coach Debbie Hensley and assistant coach Kevin Dempsey at Tiger Soccer Camp since the summer of 2007. He even served as an assistant director in 2012. McReynolds joins the Tigers’ support staff with a strong coaching pedigree, highlighted by a one-year stint as an assistant coach of the men’s program at Albion College in Albion, Mich., where he coached the team’s goalkeepers. He helped turn the Britons
from a 6-14 club in 2010 into a 9-9-1 squad in his one season with the program during the 2011 campaign. An intern with the Baton Rouge Soccer Club in the summer of 2010, McReynolds joined the LSU staff following a five-month stint as BRSC’s Under-8 Academy Director in 2012. A native of Zachary, La., McReynolds played college soccer for four years at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tenn., where he received his bachelor’s degree in exercise science in May 2011. During his collegiate career, he was a three-time NAIA All-American Scholar-Athlete from 2009-11 and a four-time TransSouth Conference Scholar-Athlete from 2008-11. During his junior and senior seasons at FreedHardeman University, McReynolds served as a Gameday Promotions Organizer while assisting in fundraising activities for the athletic department and coordinating gameday promotional events for men’s and women’s basketball and women’s volleyball.
