The History The LSU Sports Radio Network, a division of LSU Sports Properties, brings Tiger basketball to LSU followers across the country. With two 50,000-watt clear channel affiliates and three 100,000-watt FM stations, LSU Basketball is distributed by satellite throughout the South. The LSU Sports Radio Network is anchored by Guaranty Broadcasting flagship New Country 100.7 FM in Baton Rouge. The LSU Sports Radio Network, in its 24th year, is one of the most diverse and progressive college radio networks in the country, utilizing an in-house radio studio to originate over 140 live events in football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and softball. Besides the live events, the network schedule includes a weekly live coach’s show for football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball.

The Trent Johnson Show
The Trent Johnson Show, presented by Capital One Bank, a weekly one-hour radio program returns for the 2011-12 season. It is designed to give Tiger fans a chance to visit both live and by phone with LSU Coach Trent Johnson. The show will be hosted again this season by former Tiger basketball star and game analyst for the LSU Sports Radio Network, Ricky Blanton. The show will be broadcast again this year from T. J. Ribs on Acadian Thruway. Fans have the opportunity to come out and watch the show. There is also a call-in segment that features questions from listeners on the LSU Sports Radio Network, in the Geaux Zone at LSUsports.net and on Facebook. The first show, with Coach Johnson, is Dec. 12 and runs primarily on Mondays through the remainder of the regular season.
The Trent Johnson Radio Show is broadcast from T. J. Ribs on Acadian Thruway.

Hawthorne begins his 32nd season of LSU basketball play-by-play and in his LSU broadcasting career has called the action from three Final Fours, 15 College World Series in baseball (including all six national championship games LSU played in) and 16 football Bowl games, including the 2003 and 2007 National Championship games. A 46-year play-by-play veteran with Northwestern State football, basketball and baseball, Centenary basketball, Texas League baseball and World Football League broadcasts also among his credentials. Hawthorne is married to the former Juanita Carol Thomason of Anacoco and has one son, Joseph William, two daughters, Jaime Lynn and Amanda Ruth, and three grandchildren.

Ricky Blanton
Kevin Ford Broadcast Host Ford is in his 23rd year with the LSU Sports Radio Network, hosting the network’s basketball pregame, halftime and postgame shows. He is in his 17th year as football host of pregame, halftime and post-game shows. He currently hosts the program “Louisiana Sportsman TV” which airs on Cox Sports Television.
Game Analyst Former LSU basketball star Ricky Blanton, a member of the 16-member All-Century LSU basketball team, is in his third year as the game analyst and his second as the host of the Trent Johnson weekly radio show on the network. Blanton, a member of LSU’s 1986 Final Four team, scored 1,501 points in his career (15th best at LSU) and grabbed 766 rebounds, 14th all-time from 1984-86 and 1987-89.
