A Return to GloryontheGridiron Coach Joe Colistra led the 2005 Explorers to a successful 9-4 record while breaking the school record for the most wins by a football coach. The Explorers earned a spot in the Catholic League Red Playoffs and beatArchbishop Ryan in the first round 28-3. Although the dream of a championship ended with a loss to Cardinal O'Hara, the Explorers displayed their team work and determination when they conquered the nationally ranked St. Joe's Hawks in over-

time 14-13 Thanksgiving Day ending a seven year winless streak. La Salle's defense was among the best in the competitive Catholic League Red led by Seniors George Hudson, Joe Tubolino, Jeff Liberatore, Kevin Ulrich, and Greg Crone. On the offensive side of the ball, Jim Gehringer, Brad Caglia, Clark Hodgeson, and Tom Prokop opened up holes for Mike Padgeon, Chris Agnew and Alain Bonny. Hauling in catches were Drew Wilkins, Rick Cosgrove, Eric

Schoeffling, Matt Ihlein, and Jerry Fillman. Many underclassman played significant roles in shaping the outcome of the 2005 season among them, Chris Ashley (RB), Jack Forster (WR/DB), John Harrison (QB), and John McBumie(DL), The 2005 Football Team will always have fond memories of the season and everyone associated with the program will never be forgotten. - Eric Schoeffling '06
