OF ATTRACTION The stands at Shibe Park literally shook with applause as the popular La Salle marching band, attired in its new midshipman uniforms, made a guest appearance at the Philadelphia Eagles vs. the Dallas Texans game last fall. This enthusiasm was the result of the precision and spectacle displayed by our heralded band on all previous occasions. It provided a much deserved reward for Mr. Colantonio and Brother Fortunatus John for their unending work toward the bond's success. This year's marching season was highlighted by the excellent performance at Franklin Field when La Salle was chosen to represent Georgia University in its tussle with Penn. The unique interpretation of such numbers as the Mexican Hot Dance, Ach du Lieber Augustine, and Sidewalks of New York, coupled with the vastness of eighty marchers kicking in breath-taking precision earned for La Salle the enviable reputation of one of the best marching and playing units in the East.
