Did You Know? When Mr. Vettori conducts the concert bands, he does so as an accomplished musician in his own right. A “woodwind doubler” – Mr. Vettori plays soprano, alto and tenor saxophone; flute and alto flute; piccolo; and clarinet. He has played two tours with Burt Bacharach and has appeared in two CBS television specials in Washington, DC – one welcoming home troops from Dessert Storm and President Clinton’s Inaugural Special starring Barbra Streisand. He spent twelve years in the house orchestras at the Latin Casino in Cherry Hill, NJ along with the house orchestras of Caesars, Sands, and Claridge Casinos in Atlantic City, playing with the likes of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, Johnny Mathis, Natalie Cole, Linda Rondstadt, and Harry Connick, Jr. He spent eight years in the house orchestra at the Walnut Street Theater and is currently playing at the Academy of Music and Forrest Theaters for national tours of Broadway shows. He has performed with the Philly Pops, the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, and the Opera Company of Philadelphia.
