Steven Topple Beano’s Cabin

Steven Topple came to the United States 11 years ago from the United Kingdom where he received his formal culinary education at Highbury College in Portsmouth, England. Steve has served as the Chef de Cuisine or Chef de Tournament at a number of restaurants including; the Wilcox Inn in South Carolina, Wolfgang Puck’s Postrio Restaurant in San Francisco, the Sea Island Company in Georgia, and most recently Wildflower in the Lodge at Vail. Steve took over the top job as Executive Chef of Beano’s Cabin in February 2006. Over the years, he has introduced more Colorado cuisine to the menu, chefs tasting menus and daily specials, to the already large five course meal. Beano’s Cabin is located on Beaver Creek Mountain, in Larkspur bowl. In the winter you are transported up to the restaurant by a sleigh pulled by a snow cat. However, in the summer you have the option of riding either horseback, a wagon pulled by a John Deere tractor or taking a shuttle up to the legendary cabin. In July 2010, Steven’s highly anticipated cookbook “Signatures” was released. This book is a collection of his recipes from multiple restaurants he has worked at over the years. Check it out online at www.stevetopple.com and bring it by Beano’s Cabin for a signature signing. Steve has presented his creations at the prestigious James Beard House in New York City twice, once in January 2006 and then again in August 2007.This a great honor for an Executive Chef and Colorado cuisine received recognition as very good and worth a second look. In addition, Steve regularly hosts live cooking demonstrations on TV8’s daily “Good Morning Vail”, a RSN resort station network based in Vail, Co. He has also conducted live interviews with a CBS television affiliate in Colorado Springs, Co. as well as other stations.
