Performance Ensemble Hip Hop Jazz/ Ballet/ Tap for Grades 5 and Up, Community House Does your child have a passion for dance? This is the class for them! In this encouraging environment, students expand their dance education through technique instruction, group work that focuses on team building skills, and performance experience that helps build self-confidence. Performance Ensemble focuses on three styles of dance – Ballet, Jazz and Tap. Time dedicated to ballet will include classical and lyrical dance. It will improve posture, balance, and grace. During the jazz section of class, dancers will move to current and classic music while exploring many different styles of Jazz – funk, Broadway, and of course hip-hop! Tap work will concentrate on rhythmic tap exercises and center floor patterns with a focus on clarity, speed, style and terminology. Performance Ensemble Dancers will have a blast as they challenge their abilities, gain self-confidence and get a great dance workout in this 90-minute non-competitive class. This class participates in three routines in the Recital including our featured Ensemble production routine and is given the opportunity to perform for the community. Attire: Leotard any style and color, tights any color, pink leather ballet shoes (no drawstring style), black leather tap shoes (slip on or buckle style) and black leather jazz shoes (slip on style). Instructor: April Bergeron Tuesdays, 5:45-7:15pm Sept 19-May 8 #7001.714 9/19-5/8 No Class Dates: 10/31, 11/21, 12/19, 12/26, 1/16, 2/20, 3/13, 4/17 Pointe & Pre-Pointe – Advanced Ballet Techniques- Grades 5 and Up, Community House Pointed toes and Pirouettes! This class is everything ballet! This is a great class for dancers that wish to focus on advancing their personal techniques and really take things to the next level in ballet. This class is individually tailored to each dancer’s level; providing individual; challenges to help dancers excel. This class will have a strict dress code of leotards any style and color, convertible tights any color, ballet skirts or shirts and pink leather ballet shoes (no drawstring style). Pointe shies may be incorporated based on individual evaluations (by instructor) in the month of October. Advanced Pointe students will also begin to incorporate pointe shoes into their regular ballet class warm ups and across the floor work during Performance Ensemble. This class participates in one routine in the recital. Couples will learn an easy beginner partner routine during five Saturday morning practices. During this fun filled hour, fathers and daughters will dance, shake, twirl, and spin to create a dynamic routine that will be performed in our annual recital. No experience necessary! Grab that special someone (fathers, grandfathers, uncles, etc. and join us) Attire: Dads– comfortable clothes and sneakers. Daughters– leotard any style and color, tights any color, pink leather ballet shoes (no drawstring style). Solos/Duets/Triplets, Community House In this comfortable and encouraging environment the instructor can discover and strengthen your dancer’s individual weaknesses, promote their strengths and help them reach their personal dance goals. Private lessons are available for solo dancers, duets or triplets looking for more focused instruction on a specific style of dance. Dancers must be enrolled in a full year class to sign up for a solo/duet/ triplet session. Attire: leotard any style and color, tights any color, appropriate shoes based on focused style of dance. Includes five private dance lessons. Recital is optional. Zumba classes provide a large calorie burn through aerobic activity done with interval training in mind. The average person will burn around 600 to 1,000 calories in a Zumba class.. Aside from its heart-health benefits, Zumba provides a workout for the whole body. Ditch the workout, join the party! Longmeadow Parks & Recreation

Passport Services Longmeadow Parks and Recreation has the ability to accept applications for a U.S. Passport Book and/or U.S. Passport Card at the Community House office between 9 a.m. and 2:45 p.m., Monday-Friday. Please call ahead to ensure Passport Acceptance Agents are scheduled to be in the office on the day you plan to visit and to ensure you are clear on requirements for your particular situation (many people have to leave and come back again because they do not have all the required information - we can prevent this from happening to you!). All passport applications must be completed by 3 p.m. each day and the fees can only be paid for by money order or check (you will need 2 separate checks, and amounts vary). Longmeadow Parks and Recreation Department carries most, if not all forms to apply for, renew or change your passport. **NEW: If you have not had a passport before, the State Department now requires an original Birth Certificate and a copy to be mailed to them.**

Photos We do not provide passport photo services. Please carefully inspect your passport photo. The Department of State does not accept photos that do not meet their strict guidelines.

Staff While most adult renewals must be done by mail, there are some exceptions and we can process those that require the assistance of an acceptance facility. Please call ahead if you are not sure. Our friendly staff will be happy to help you with your passport application questions. Call 413-565-4160 if you need assistance. Please Note While the passport website indicates that some facilities can accept credit card payments for passport fees, we cannot. Checks are the only accepted form of payment, and you will need to write two separate checks: One payable to the "US Department of State" and one payable to the "Town of Longmeadow". Check amounts vary, based on services requested.
