1 Begin Remind children of the Original Sin we inherit from the first people, Adam and Eve. Say: The Father sent his Son, Jesus. Jesus opened the gates of heaven to us.
Draw a picture of yourself with Jesus.
2 Connect Read aloud the title and the sentence on page 23. Help children find the word heaven in the Glossary and discuss the definition. Say: Jesus’ love for us is so big that he makes heaven possible for us. Display the Jesus the Teacher Plush Figure. Ask: What can we do to be like Jesus when we have to choose between right or wrong? Have children share aloud their ideas. Read aloud the directions. Have children complete the activity.

Service: Helping Hand Have children brainstorm a list of jobs that they can do to be helpful at home. For example, they might water plants, walk dogs, take out trash, or rake leaves.
