ANNALISA SEGA ’17 PREEMIE ACTIVIST, FUTURE SURGEON Why do some preterm babies get brain bleeds while others don’t? Biology/premed major Annalisa has turned that medical quandary into her quest. This honors student is connecting her lifelong advocacy for premature babies with a summer research project at the
Yale Cardiovascular Research Center. She’s investigating how the molecular signaling responsible for transmitting information between body cells interacts with the brain’s protective barrier— with hopes of preventing prematurity someday.
