This is due to a combination of factors including high employment in the borough, relatively high job density and skills shortages at level 4 and above (sub-degree through to post-graduate equivalent). 4

There are opportunities to meet local demand for higher level skills

Local employers report higher level technical skills shortages

This is particularly in software development, cyber security, artificial intelligence technologies, digital technologies, clinical skills (including nursing), research and development and engineering. These reflect national shortage areas in science, technology engineering and mathmatics (STEM) disciplines.6
