For more than 10 years, the Center for Health Equity and our partners have worked to understand how these systems impact health, and how we can improve them to create a Louisville Metro where all can thrive. This report shows the diversity of people living in Louisville Metro, while highlighting health at all ages and stages of our lives.

A person’s identities, whatever they may be, should not predict how long or how well one will live. This requires creating systems and policies where environments, economics, and government work for everyone.

Center for Health Equity For more than a decade, the Center for Health Equity has worked to remove barriers to good health. We know that health is more than the choices you make; health is impacted by the choices you have. In many ways, the choices we make as a community will drive the choices any of us have as individuals. At the Center for Health Equity, we focus on creating policies and changing systems to ensure everyone has the opportunity to make healthier choices. We recognize and value the multiple identities that shape people’s experiences and believe all ages, abilities, sectors, and cultures should be at the table. We use multiple forms of data and know that a responsive, accountable government, working with a powerful community, can change systems. We have the resources to work together to find solutions to these root causes of poor health outcomes and create a Louisville Metro where we all thrive. We invite you to join us in designing a healthier Louisville for all!

This report was created by Center for Health Equity staff: Brandy N. Kelly Pryor, PhD, Rebecca Hollenbach, MPH, CHES, T Gonzales, MSW, Aja Barber, MS, and Lilah Gael, MPA.
