Jego wysokość to 541 m, czyli 1776 stóp, które symbolicznie oznaczają datę ogłoszenia Deklaracji Niepodległości Stanów Zjednoczonych. To najwyższy budynek w USA i szósty pod tym względem na świecie. Nie dość, że uchodzi za najbezpieczniejszy biurowiec świata, to jest wyjątkowo ekologiczny. Ponad 40 proc. materiałów użytych do jego budowy pochodzi z odzysku. Do pielęgnacji roślin wokół biurowca, napełniania fontanny i chłodzenia budowli jest używana woda deszczowa. A 90 proc. pomieszczeń biurowych korzysta z naturalnego światła. ❚ This is one of the four NYC high-rises that make up the new complex erected on the site of the former WTC towers. It is 541 m (1,776’) tall. The height in feet symbolises the year the Declaration of Independence of the United States was signed. It is also the tallest building in the US and the sixth tallest building in the world. Not only is it the safest office building in the world, it is also quite green. Over 40 per cent of the materials used in its construction were recycled. Rainwater is used to water the plants around the building, fill in the fountain, and cool the structure. Ninety per cent of the offices make use of daylight instead of artificial lighting.

Wrażenie ogromu The Shard wzmacnia fakt, że stolica Wielkiej Brytanii do tej pory rozrastała się kosztem powierzchni, a nie przestworzy. ❚ This glazed tower is located in central London and is 309.6 m tall. It was the tallest high-rise in the United Kingdom and the European Union when it opened in 2012. The Shard has 72 floors. The building’s height is impressive considering that the UK capital has traditionally expanded its infrastructure horizontally and not vertically.
Luksusowy hotel i kasyno nazwany na cześć inwestora Steve’a Wynna. Kompleks zajmuje powierzchnię 87 ha, mierzy 187 m (45 pięter) i oprócz 2716 pokoi ma kasyno, centrum kongresowe i przestrzeń na targi. Wynn regularnie zdobywa najwyższe klasyfikacje Mobila, Forbesa i Michelina. Był też pierwszym obiektem hotelowym, w którym znalazł się salon samochodowy. Jedną z atrakcji jest tam ogromny wodospad wpadający do jeziora o powierzchni 1,2 ha. ❚ This luxurious hotel and casino is named after its developer, Steve Wynn. The complex spans 87 ha, is 187 m tall (45 floors), and in addition to 2,716 rooms, houses a casino, a congress centre, and space for trade fairs. Wynn keeps winning top scores from Mobile, Forbes and Michelin. It was also the first hotel complex to accommodate a car showroom. Another attraction is a huge waterfall falling into a 1.2 ha lake.
