Bungalow houses in subdivisions typically use Mediterranean style which incorporates stone wall cladding and roof clay tiles The stone wall cladding provides extreme durability and long lifespan This also has a high level of insulation and has weather and fire resistant properties Roof clay tiles are stronger and more durable which give the material a longer lifespan The appearance of roof clay tiles improves as time passes by

Lightweight concrete serves as a good replacement for these traditional hollow blocks as it can provide structural and economic advantages These reduce the dead load of the building which will result in reduction of the size of footings and columns, lower the cost of materials, and provide thermal and sound insulation

Thus, features like brise-soleil and timber roof cladding that reduces heat and sound gain is a must A brise-soleil is a solar shading architectural feature that uses a series of horizontal or vertical blades to control the amount of sunlight and solar heat Timber cladding is a renewable roofing material that has strength and durability, and has heat and sound insulation properties

Socialized housing projects are under Batas Pambansa 220. These are affordable housing units for the average and low-income earners which are determined by National Economic and Development Authority or NEDA The proposed project features a rowhouse type of residence that appears to have an identical façade and connected by common sidewalls Jalousie or louvre windows are used as it permits almost 100% of the area for natural ventilation
