Vision Becomes a Reality

"The Lorain sign is to be enjoyed by the public. We, as a community, need to capitalize on one of Lorain's greatest assets. Beautiful Lake Erie will be the backdrop for sign photos, promote the pride of one's community, and embrace a work of art for many generations to enjoy. I started this project because I firmly believe Lorain is an up-and-coming community that deserves to be designated as a tourist destination."

In January of 2021, we received word that our city would be gaining something that could be enjoyed for many generations to come. Our very own script sign overlooking our beautiful harbor was soon on its way.

One year later, Lorain is where the story now continues for a team of individuals that have worked diligently to make this vision a reality.

The city of Lorain now has its own 3D-script sign that sits at the northeast corner of Broadway and West Erie Avenue overlooking our waterfront.

The sign is already becoming a destination for residents and visitors to take photos, videos, and simply enjoy the beautiful backdrop consisting of Lake Erie, the Black River, and the historic Lorain Lighthouse.

This spring, the sign will receive customizable lighting, accessible sidewalks, designated parking spots nearby, and beautiful landscaping surrounding it, giving all of us a new way to experience Lorain.

To everyone involved in turning this vision into a reality, thank you for believing in our great lake city on our Great Lake coast.

We hope to see you at the sign!
