Join us at Schoepfle Garden for Algae Papermaking. Artist Diane Britt will demonstrate papermaking from different species of river algae harvested from the Vermilion River. This program will also allow attendees to try their hand at papermaking.

Tuesday, Aug. 22, and Thursday, Aug. 24, will be Diane’s prep days. She can be found on the back deck of Schoepfle Garden Nature Center from 1-3 pm, preparing the raw fiber needed for her process. During this time, she will be available to answer garden visitors’ questions and demonstrate many of the techniques she uses.
On Sunday, Aug. 27, in the Schoepfle Garden Meeting Room, Diane will invite attendees to watch her making paper and using the paper to create artistic sculptures. Diane’s artwork will be on display throughout July and August in the nature center lobby.
