Local author to drop anchor in Fox Valley LOCAL author Suzy Senior has penned a swashbuckling Christmas tale like no other with her new book, ‘A Pirate Christmas: The Nativity Story’. To celebrate, Suzy has teamed up with members of local churches to hold a Pirate Christmas event at Fox Valley. This will be on Saturday December 1, with crafts, activities, a treasure hunt and interactive Pirate Nativity performances take place on the bandstand at 11am, 12pm and 1pm. Pirate fancy dress is very welcome! Suzy told Look Local: “We have enjoyed taking the performance into assemblies in the Deepcar

schools already, and are really excited about the day! Fox Valley have been brilliant, and we are very grateful for all their help. Illustrated by Andy Catling, the book tells the story of Pirate Dad, Joe, and Cannon the Ship's Guinea Pig, who are sadly stuck on their ship and missing the annual Buccaneer's Ball. To cheer them up, Pirate Dad pulls out an old book, and begins to read a Christmassy story. Rev Hilda Isaacson, who represents one of the churches involved said: “Shiver me timbers! What better way to begin your Christmas preparations! Looking forward to seeing you there!
