CATERING TO TASTE Dandelion’s inventive menu changes everyday with new offerings produced on the premises Open everyday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., Dandelion operates on two floors. Upstairs is a light and airy space with a picnic/camping feelcomplete with hammocks, teepees, cushions, light wood furniture and a swing. It is much more than a café, however, and is available for hire as a venue for themed parties and events. It also has workshops. Part of its attraction is walking past the kitchen area and large ovens with cast iron skillets and baking trays displaying cupcakes and more sweet sensations as you climb the stairs. The chance to witness talented people at a nearby table making what you’ll taste later is a visual pleasure and heightens the anticipation. Dandelion maximizes its available space to present a charming environment with memorable food and drinks!

andily placed between Sukhumvit 49 and 51, Dandelion (919 Sukhumvit Rd // Tel: 085 145 3181) is a cute and creative hole-in- the wall café’ that heightens your senses the moment you step through the door. Home-baked cakes and cookies are temptingly placed on display surfaces close to the counter. Dandelion’s inventive menu changes everyday with new offerings produced on the premises. There’s a great mix of sweet and savory dishes and salads. The spicy Thai salsa seafood pasta combination was a generous portion and filling. Strongly recommended is the amazing super creamy berry fresh double layer pancake, so moreish! The passion fruit iced tea is very refreshing too. We also sampled a super charcoal cheesecake, which is another must-try.

reviously situated in Thonglor, Tentacles Café and Art Space (2198/1011 Soi Taweewattana (Narathiwat 22),Yannawa, Bangkok // Tel: 089 117 3434, 082 487 1487) has been open since February 2016. It gives great opportunities for both local and international artists by providing residency programs and exhibition areas for creatives. It is part of the established art-led warehouse complex known as Gallery Ver. Tentacles hosts a regular range of workshops, which include embroidery, pottery, and painting. Step through the glass-fronted entrance to see bare stone floors and low wooden tables and chairs. Several shelves display a mix of handcrafted products designed and made by local artists.

The all-day breakfast was a delightperfectly tossed and cheese dusted lettuce with balsamic vinaigrette, lightly toasted and buttered bread and splendidly fused scrambled eggs and sweet corn. Highly recommended too is the refreshing Japanese green tea with a side jug of honey to add. Do not miss the tasty and generously portioned tagliatelle pasta with homemade pesto and Japanese mushrooms a really filling dish. For those with a sweet tooth like me, the mixed berry waffle with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream as neighbors on the plate is a must try. The waffle was baked just right and the fusion of flavors was wonderful. To finish, we shared a delicious aeropress coffee. Tentacles -- reaching out to artists and foodies alike!
