OUTSTANDING SENIOR PEER AWARD

This award is nominated by the senior class. The criteria for selection are as follows: Balances academics with outside interests

LONGWOOD UNIVERSITY NURSING AWARD FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

LONGWOOD STUDENT NURSING CHAPTER’S AWARD OF EXCELLENCE

This award is given to an active Student Nursing Chapter member who has displayed academic and personal excellence during their time of attendance at Longwood University.

THE NIGHTINGALE PLEDGE

I solemnly pledge myself, in the presence of this assembly, to practice my profession faithfully. I will strive to maintain integrity and personal accountability while upholding the standards of my profession. I will not knowingly administer harmful treatments to those in my care and will consider it my personal obligation to provide the safest, most effective care possible. I will hold in con fidence all personal matters committed to my keeping and all family affairs coming to my knowledge in the practice of my calling. With loyalty will I devote myself to the advancement of nursing practice and to the welfare of those committed to my charge.

This pledge is an adaptation of the 1893 Nightingale pledge by Lystra E. Gretter.
